30 Friends more

Your not so average Prosecco

Wow! Thank you!

That is all I can say. Nearly two months ago (can it be only two months?!) I started this writing dream. I’ve always loved writing and I’ve always loved food, but this blog have given me the power to combine both and now I have found 30 friends that share the same interest (or just want to laugh and poke fun at my bad grammar 😉 )! Who would’ve thought?

To celebrate our friendship I’m taking a leaf out of Tabitha from tabithablogss’ blog and do a tag. I am going to answer these Autumn-related questions and if you would like to keep the tag going then please let me know in the comments so I can go and have a peek at your answers.

Here goes!

1.) Flannels or Jumpers?

Being a non-English speaking person I thought a flannel was something you put on your head to break a fever and a ‘jumper’ is a commonly referred to name of a spider in my house! Then I went and looked up both meanings in the dictionary (who am I kidding? I googled it!) and now I have added two new words to my ever-expanding English vocab! (Yes, I said vocab!)

So the verdict: I prefer flannel. Jumpers are so bulky!

2.) Fairylights or Candles?

Well, that depends on the mood! The hubby loves a candle more than anything in this world so I will be crucified if I said fairylights (which will be the preferred option near Christmas time…).  Fairylights.

3.) What’s you’re favourite Halloween Movie?

Hmmm, have to be Hocus Pocus – such a classic!

4.)  Are you a pumpkin spiced junkie?

Oh yes! I have my Pumpkin Spiced Latte fix at least once a week (extra hot, extra shot and skinny)!

5.) Hot Chocolate or Tea?

I do and I don’t get this obsession with ‘tea fixes everything’. A hot chocolate with little marshmallows will heal any broken heart or tired mind.

6.) Rain or Fog?

Rain all the way! Africa don’t get much rain, but when we do, it pours! I love everything about rain: the smell, the sound, the way the light bounces off the freshly fallen raindrops, the grey clouds and best of all: the rainbow! I’ll even go as far as to say that I like thrill that thunder and lightning brings (shhh, don’t tell the hubby!).

Fog… Nothing to write a blog about…

7.) Do you decorate your home for autumn?

If getting the candles and blankets out of the cupboard count as decorating our home, then yes, I redecorate my home for every season.

8.) Favourite Vampire?

Edward. Always Team Edward.

9.) Do you have any traditions for autumn?

Raking up the endless stream of leaves in the garden.

10.) What’s your favourite fall colour?

At first I wanted to say black and blue, but then realised fall referred to autumn. In that case it has to be the reddish brown from the leaves in our front garden. They are gorgeous!

11.) Do you like horror movies?

Not blood, guts and gore, but I do love a good thriller. One of those that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

12.) What’s your favourite autumn scented candle?

Honey

13.) Halloween or Thankgiving?

I don’t celebrate either, but absolutely love the themes they both hold so I do like painting my nails for both occasions.

14.) What’s you’re favourite thing about autumn?

The smell. There is something very cosy about the way autumn smells. A smokey, woody smell combined with the crispness of the cooling air and the aroma of the fallen leaves. Magic!

15.) Favourite -ber month?

December. It is the height of summer in South Africa and I just love to extend my summer by going home every other year.

16.) Do you prefer autumn or winter? Why?

Autumn. You still have the bit of residual summer sun without the gloom of mid-winter depression. Unless of course it snows. Nothing can beat snow.

17.) What’s your Halloween costume dream?

I would love to dress up like a turkey drumstick. I think that will be cool.

18.) Favourite witch?

Liewe Heksie. She is the sweetest little Afrikaans witch in the entire world! She will not harm a fly, plus she has a horse that will appear on demand. Priceless!

19.) Where would you like to spend your Halloween?

At home. In the dark. Tricking the trick or treatsters into thinking nobody is home.

20.) Scarf or hat?

Both. I love colour coding and therefore have matching hats and scarves. I’m sad, I know.

21.) Favourite tree?

Jacaranda. They have the most beautiful purple flowers. There are streets in Pretoria, South Africa that is lined with these gorgeous trees. Absolute picture.

22.) What’s your dream place to visit during autumn?

Central Park in New York. I think the colours will be stunning.

23.)  Vampires or Zombie?

Vampires. More particularly: Twilight books and movies.

24.) Which songs do you listen to in autumn?

Whatever plays on the radio. I can pretty much listen to anything and like it.

25.) Bats or Spiders?

Neither. I have a story for both. But currently only the Spider one is published. I’ll have to tell you the bat story at some point – it is wild!

26.) A walk in the woods or a walk in the mall?

Has to be the woods. I love nature and the smell of the woods is just intoxicating.

27.) What’s your favourite autumn food?

Has to be homemade pumpkin soup, hotdogs and jacket potatoes with beans. Just to note that these are three s-e-p-a-r-a-t-e meals. Just so you don’t think I’m weird or anything…

28.) Name a book that makes you think of autumn

It has to be the Sainsbury’s Magazine as when the nights are long, I get to read it whilst relaxing in the tub!

29.) Halloween party or Halloween movie marathon?

Movie Marathon. Little beats curling up on the sofa under a blankie with a bit of popcorn and a huge mug of hot chocolate watching scary movies.

30.) Favourite item of clothing for Autumn?

A light cardigan.

There you go! Now you know a whole lot more about me! As I mentioned above, if you would like to keep the tag going, then copy and answer the questions. Don’t forget to let me know that you’ve done it so I can get to know you a bit better too.

Here is to you and the next 30 followers!

  2. Hocus pocus is definitely the best movie and a movie marathon would definitely be preferred over a party! Great post!
